18th or 19th Century English posy ring.Virtue in thee is a crown to me
Posies are the poetry of posy rings and kisses. They will be found to explain themselves. These couplets are just innocent pretty things to which we might well return. Their composition exercised the wit of many courtly rhymers of the 16th 17th and 18th centuries. excerpt from A.L. Humphries’ Book on Posies published 1907.
