Early 19th Century Iberian gold and emerald earrings. Crafted in 18k gold and emeralds, Stones would have been sourced in colonial mines in Columbia and Peru. Original, back-to-front ear hooks, typical for the period. Spanish in Origin, Circa 1800.

The Iberian Peninsula produced outstanding jewels through the whole of the 18th century, but production came to an abrupt halt with Napoleon’s invasion of Portugal in 1809.
