Early 19th century old mine cut diamond gimmel ring. Diamonds set in silver on gold shanks. The clasped hands open to reveal a double heart. The gimmel motif represents the joining of hands in a ceremony of marriage. The ring is comprised of three rings held together by a center pin at the base, allowing the ring to swivel open. The two hands join snugly together. Circa 1850.
