Early 19th Century agate necklace set in gilt metal. English in origin, this necklace dates to 1800-1830. The nicely matched and graduated agate stones are set in cut down collet settings. Each stone is sliced thin allowing light to pass through the beautifully banded natural agate patterns. A very nice long length for a necklace from this period.
